Mary Rose, a recent undergraduate from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, serves as an advocate for corrections reform through her work facilitating creative arts workshops in Michigan prisons and youth facilities.  While attending the University of Michigan, Rose involved herself with various Detroit-based non-profits, including the community empowerment theatre Matrix Theatre Company in Southwest Detroit.  She was named one of Business Insider’s “17 Incredibly Impressive Students at the University of Michigan” and one of The Michigan Daily’s “Students of the Year” for her work conducting arts for social change in Southeastern Michigan.

Rose is the Southeastern Michigan Organizing & Communications Coordinator with the Citizens Alliance on Prisons & Public Spending (CAPPS) and an intern for the international service learning organization, buildOn, at Cass Technical High School.
